An Evening at Langosteria: Acoustics Meet Italian Hospitality
During Milan Design Week 2026, Leuk Finishes and Slalom Acoustics brought together a select group of architects and designers for an evening of food, conversation and design at one of Milan’s most distinctive restaurants: Langosteria.
Milan during Design Week is a city in constant motion. Showrooms, exhibitions, installations and events fill every corner, bringing together designers and creatives from around the world.
Amid the energy, we wanted to create a moment to slow down, gather around a table and experience Slalom Acoustics in a different context.
Our destination was Langosteria, the group's flagship restaurant on Via Savona. Founded in Milan in 2007, Langosteria has developed a distinctive approach to hospitality, combining Italian culinary tradition with a sophisticated, contemporary atmosphere. The restaurant itself unfolds as a sequence of rooms, corridors, niches and intimate dining spaces, creating a layered experience as you move through it.
Where design and acoustics come together
Restaurants are spaces where acoustics matter as much as aesthetics.
A dining room needs to feel lively and social, while still allowing guests to comfortably enjoy a conversation. Music, voices, dishes and movement all contribute to the atmosphere of a restaurant—and the materials surrounding us play an important role in how those sounds are experienced.
At Langosteria, Slalom acoustic solutions become part of this environment, demonstrating how acoustic treatment can be integrated into a highly designed hospitality setting without compromising the character of the interior.
Rather than treating acoustic panels as something purely technical, Slalom approaches them as architectural materials: surfaces that can contribute to color, texture, rhythm and identity while helping create a more comfortable acoustic environment.
This balance between performance and aesthetics is at the heart of Slalom's approach to acoustic design.
Designing for the complete experience
In hospitality, every detail contributes to the experience.
Lighting influences mood. Materials create texture. Furniture establishes rhythm. Color defines atmosphere. And acoustics influence how the entire space feels.
This is why we believe acoustic design should be considered from the beginning of a project—not added at the end as a purely functional requirement.
Slalom's collection offers designers the opportunity to work with acoustic materials as part of the overall design concept, with different forms, textures, colors and applications that can be adapted to the character of a space.
Langosteria is a beautiful example of how these elements can coexist: a restaurant where the atmosphere is carefully considered and where the acoustic environment becomes part of the experience rather than something visitors necessarily notice.
From Milan to your next project
Our evening at Langosteria was a reminder that some of the most interesting conversations around design happen around a table.
For Leuk Finishes, representing Slalom Acoustics in the U.S., we are excited to continue bringing these ideas to architects and designers across the country—whether through our showroom, presentations, samples or conversations about upcoming projects.
